Safety and Security management is central to the successful co-ordination and implementation of humanitarian and international development programmes. It is therefore vital that staff with security risk management responsibilities are supported with high quality, up-to-date Security Risk Management training, and the necessary tools to perform their role fully and to the best of their ability.

Online Security Risk Management Training introduces staff members of national and international organisations to the most recent and relevant safety and security best practices, organisational approaches, methods, and tools. The course is designed to develop the Security Risk Management capacities of individuals and organisation, in order to enhance the safety and security of their field personnel and programmes. It is offered in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

A web-based, instructor-led training, this course is delivered over an 8-week period, combining individual assignments, group work, discussion forums, and live interaction with ILS facilitators. It is designed and developed for persons with current or upcoming Security Risk Management responsibilities, including Security Focal Points working in field offices.
