| Description | The SCORE (Security in Complex Operational and Remote Environments) course will take place in Ottawa from October 2nd to October 6th, 2023. SCORE is a collaborative initiative of several Canadian aid, development, and humanitarian NGOs. The course is designed to address the unique challenges faced by mid-sized NGOs operating in complex and remote environments. Learners acquire skills and knowledge to identify, mitigate and respond to risk in volatile environments. We launched SCORE in September of last year, and have successfully offered the course three times, with 7 different NGOs sending their staff. The feedback we have received through evaluations has been overwhelmingly positive, with 90% of attendees rating the course elements as either 5/Excellent or 4/Very Good on a 5-point scale. Our primary objective is to make this training accessible to NGOs with limited resources, both financially and otherwise. We seek to enable a broader range of organizations to participate and benefit. To this end, we have adopted a cost-sharing model, making the training more affordable compared to the prohibitively expensive options available elsewhere.
