Share this:

GISF is excited to welcome three new security focal points (SFPs) to our Americas Steering Committee:

  • Marieke van Weerden (Catholic Relief Services)
  • Raymond Bonniwell (Relief International)
  • Ben Whelan (Access Now)

Scott Ruddick, Chair of the Americas Steering Committee, said: ‘I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you as a member of the GISF Americas Steering Committee. On behalf of the current ASC members, thank you for accepting this important role and stepping forward to contribute to the advancement of INGO security. We are thrilled to have you on board and look forward to working together’.

The Americas Steering Committee (ASC) plays a pivotal role in supporting GISF’s efforts in the Americas. By providing expertise, contributing to strategic discussions, and contributing to GISF’s work, members of the ASC help to ensure GISF’s continued relevance and value in helping to enable safe, sustainable access for those supporting communities affected by crisis.

Marieke, Raymond and Ben join Shannon Fariel-Mureithi (ChildFund International), Amaury Cooper (Global Communities), Viviana Ardila (International Rescue Committee), and chair Scott Ruddick (MEDA) to guide GISF in meeting its objectives and promoting best practices in security risk management across the NGO sector.

Join us in wishing our new Americas Steering Committee members a warm welcome!
