Are you experienced in security management and analysis in insecure environments?

An exciting new opportunity has arisen within Tearfund’s Eurasia and North Africa (ENA) Team in the role as Safety, Security and Access Manager. With a strong preference for a national candidate this role may be based in the successful candidates country of origin or where Tearfund has a right to work within ENA.

In this role you will advise and support Tearfund’s ENA Country programme teams on safety and security policies and procedures, and ensure security plans are effective. You will deliver training and briefings, as well as coaching to both programme country based staff and partners. You will undertake frequent monitoring field visits to country programmes and provide advice on access protocols for programmes as well as on regional trends and analysis to the Regional Director. Where necessary you will provide surge support to country programmes.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in:

  • Working in an insecure environment in a security position
  • Have relevant security training, such as HEAT or equivalent
  • Experience of conducting security analysis within an insecure environment and demonstrated examples of how programming has adapted as a result
  • Providing dynamic, helpful and clear advice and recommendations to key decision makers
  • Have the ability to work under pressure

Candidates must also have excellent English communication skills, written and oral, are required, with additional Arabic being desirable.

This role will be based in one of the following countries: Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Pakistan with frequent travel. Salary will be dependent on location.
